Air Europa in March and April 2017 once again schedules Boeing 787-8 service on Madrid – Barcelona route, operating once a day. The 787-8 is scheduled to operate from 07MAR17 to 15APR17. Planned schedule as follow.

Air France in last week’s schedule update has filed planned Boeing 787-9 service on domestic route, scheduled on Paris CDG – Lyon route. The 787-9 will operate one daily flight from 29MAY17 to 28OCT17, as AF7640/7641.

Lufthansa expands its long-haul network: New destinations from Munich and Frankfurt in summer 2018


New: San Diego direct from Frankfurt
Munich – Singapore to be reintroduced to the Lufthansa flight schedule
Los Angeles, Beijing and Hong Kong with the Airbus A380 from Munich commencing in the summer of 2018


Lufthansa expands its route network and will offer new intercontinental destinations from Frankfurt and Munich in summer 2018.

New from Frankfurt Hub:
San Diego (USA) is the second largest city in the U.S. state of California and eighth overall in the Unites States. The city is located in southwest California, close to the Mexican border. Due to the pleasant climate, San Diego is known as „America’s Finest City“ by its residents. The beaches and waves of the Pacific are particularly suitable for surfing. The city is also a hotspot for the biotech and telecommunications industry. Beginning in summer 2018, Lufthansa will offer five weekly San Diego flights from Frankfurt.

New from Munich Hub:
Likewise in summer 2018, Lufthansa will reintroduce the Singapore route into its flight schedule from Munich. Five times a week, passengers will be able to fly from the Bavarian capital to the lively economic metropolis in Asia. At the same time, Lufthansa will offer more additional flights from Munich to Chicago, USA. Instead of seven times a week, Lufthansa will fly from Bavaria to the „Windy City“ ten times per week.

Good news for Airbus A380 Fans in Munich: Starting in summer 2018, Lufthansa will introduce the Airbus A380 in Munich on long-haul destinations to Los Angeles, Hong Kong and Beijing. For this reason, Lufthansa will transfer five of its 14 Airbus A380s from Frankfurt to Munich. As a result up to 500 new positions will be staffed in Bavaria.

“With the A380 we can offer our Munich customers a premium aircraft at a 5-Star Hub,“ said Harry Hohmeister, member of the Executive Board of Deutsche Lufthansa AG and responsible for Hub Management. “In recent years, we have made great progress in steering our hubs. We harmonized and integrated processes and are now more flexible in utilizing our aircraft at different locations. Quality, efficiency and growth will always remain our top priority.”

Lufthansa is showing a clear sign for continued growth in Bavaria. Over the next two years, the Lufthansa long-haul fleet in Munich will be receiving two more aircraft.

El Al chiude la UP. Peccato, la livrea era davvero carina.

El Al Israel Airlines (LY, Tel Aviv Ben Gurion) has announced it will discontinue its UP by El Al (LY, Tel Aviv Ben Gurion) budget brand as part of a revision of its European market business model. UP was launched in March 2014 and was used to serve Berlin Schönefeld, Budapest, Kiev Boryspil, Prague, and Larnaca using a fleet of four El Al B737-800s.

"After four years of operating this brand, we will discontinue it because holding several brands creates difficulties," Vice President (Commercial), Gonen Usishkin said.

EL Al will replace the brand with three different family-branded fare structures: Classic, Flex, and Lite all of which will be available on UP's network.

"EL AL continues to innovate while adapting to the growing competition on flights to Europe, both among leisure and business travelers," David Maimon, President & CEO of El Al, said. "Among leisure travelers, price is now a critical factor. At the same time, the business passengers are interested in products that offer maximum flexibility, schedules that are best-suited for business activities, business class service and more."

The sale of new these new products to Europe will start on April 30, 2018, for flights departing as of October 15, 2018.

L'anno appena concluso, fa segnare un risultato davvero importante per l'aviazione civile.
Nel 2017 infatti non è precipitato alcun volo commerciale in tutto il mondo e nessun passeggero è morto in un incidente.
Questo è quello che riporta l'Aviation Safety Network, ente che riporta ogni incidente che capita nel mondo.
Ancora una volta ci preme ricordare i favolosi passi in avanti in termini di sicurezza del settore, oltre che naturalmente ad una dose di fortuna che nella vita non guasta mai!

PER LO SVILUPPO DI LAUDAMOTION AIRLINE IN AUSTRIA

RYANAIR ACQUISIRÀ IL 75%, SE CONFORME ALLE NORME EUROPEE
IN MATERIA DI CONCORRENZA

Milano, 20 marzo 2018 - Ryanair Holdings Plc ha annunciato oggi di aver stipulato un accordo vincolante con Niki Lauda per sostenere il suo piano di sviluppo e crescita di LaudaMotion GmbH, compagnia aerea austriaca con sede a Vienna.

LaudaMotion è una compagnia austriaca in possesso di COA (Certificato di Operatore Aereo) di proprietà di Niki Lauda, che ha recentemente acquisito molte delle attività dell'ex Niki Airline, tra cui gli aeromobili A320, ed inizierà presto una serie di servizi di linea e charter da Germania, Austria e Svizzera principalmente verso le destinazioni leisure nel Mediterraneo.

In base a tale accordo, Ryanair acquisirà una quota iniziale del 24,9% di LaudaMotion, che salirà al 75% se ritenuta conforme alle norme europee in materia di concorrenza. Niki Lauda presiederà il consiglio di amministrazione della compagnia aerea e sovrintenderà l'attuazione della sua strategia per costruire una linea aerea austriaca low cost di successo. Ryanair fornirà supporto finanziario e gestionale a LaudaMotion, oltre a 6 aeromobili a noleggio in „wet-lease“ per la stagione estiva 2018 per consentire a LaudaMotion di raggiungere i 21 aeromobili necessari al suo ampio programma di volo.

Il costo di questo investimento del 75% in LaudaMotion (se approvato dall'UE) sarà inferiore a 50 milioni di euro, sebbene Ryanair fornirà ulteriori 50 milioni di euro per supportare i costi di avvio e operativi per il primo anno. Sia Lauda che Ryanair lavoreranno con il team di gestione già esistente di LaudaMotion e si aspettano che la compagnia aerea raggiunga la redditività entro il terzo anno di attività, se avrà successo il piano di far crescere il business e la flotta fino ad almeno 30 aeromobili Airbus.

Questa partnership offre sicurezza di lavoro, opportunità di carriera e crescita dell'occupazione in tutti i dipartimenti di LaudaMotion, tra cui piloti ed equipaggio di cabina, manutenzione e amministrazione, e permetterà a consumatori e visitatori di beneficiare di una forte concorrenza, che comporta una possibilità di scelta più ampia e tariffe più basse.

Mossa davvero inaspettata, non tanto da mr. Niki che ha creato un'operazione finanziaria sicuramente non da poco, ma dagli irlandesi, abbastanza nuovi nel campo delle acquisizioni..

Interessante il fatto che venga menzionato il fatto che Airbus entra (anche se indirettamente) nella flotta Ryanair
